NJJBA Fall Ball Program
Program Description

The NJJBA Fall Baseball Program is designed to give players a program to continue playing baseball in the Fall months of September and October. Typically, players will play in the age group that they plan to play in the spring, 2010. In Fall Baseball 2009, the NJJBA program includes the 8-and-Under Machine Pitch group, and the 8-15 Kid Pitch groups. Games are scheduled to begin the last Sunday in August, August 30, and run for eight weeks through the last Sunday in October, October 25. There will be no games on Sunday, September 6; that is the Labor Day Weekend.

Fall baseball is a great time to learn new skills, try new positions, and bring teams together for continuing instruction through the fall months. Fall baseball is the "Spring Training" of Little League baseball, but with a more relaxed environment. Teams usually meet an hour before game time on Sundays for warm-up and instruction; any other practices during the week are at the discretion of the coach and team. This works well for those playing football or participating in other sports in the fall.

Make plans now to continue the development and training of your baseball players. The Fall program is an excellent time to come out to the ballpark with great weather and play in a relaxed atmosphere. We encourage entire teams or parts of teams to play together and continue their training into the fall. For the fall 2009 season, the registration fee for Kid Pitch teams is lower than in 2008, so begin making plans to get your kids registered.

In the fall season, we expect teams and players from many parts of Jefferson County. We have fielded teams and players in past years from Arvada, Golden, Lakewood, Broomfield, Westminster, Thornton, Wheat Ridge, Bear Creek, Brighton, and Denver. We will have multiple teams in each age group so that teams don´t play the "same teams" every week. We are open to all other Associations and welcome players from those organizations so that they can continue their development with North Jefferson Junior Baseball in the fall. Games are 1:45 long and we will have umpires for all Kid Pitch games. Most games are played at Arvada fields, but we do play some Kid Pitch games in Broomfield and Louisville at some great fields that they use.

We are looking forward to continued success this fall, and keeping the momentum and training of the players going into next year. Fall baseball acts as a spring board for those training in the winter with their teams, or those playing at a new level next spring. NJJBA is an outstanding organization dedicated to the teaching, development, and growth of our children. Please continue to be a part of this organization and enroll your child today.

I look forward to working with you in the fall, 2009. Please call the NJJBA Fall baseball line at: 303-456-5322 if you have any questions. I will be happy to help you in any way that I can, you can also e-mail me at: fallball@njjba.org, or you can continue to browse our web site for more information.

  1. What are the dates for the 2009 NJJBA Fall Ball Season?
The NJJBA Fall Ball baseball season starts on Sunday, August 30, 2009 and will run through Sunday, October 25, 2009. The final registration for fall baseball is Saturday, August 15th.

  2. What days will NJJBA Fall Ball games be played?
Games are only played on Sunday. The season starts the last Sunday in August (August 30, 2009) and will run through October 25, 2009, weather permitting. Typically, there are no make-ups games when impacted by weather. There will be NO games on Sunday, September 6 for the Labor Day Weekend.

  3. What age groups can play baseball in the 2008 NJJBA Fall Ball Season?
In 2009, we will have Machine Pitch (5 through 8-year-old), and Kid Pitch (8 through 15-year-old) Leagues. Players normally play in the age group that they plan to play in the following spring/summer. Therefore, a player who is now 8-years-old whose playing age next spring is 9-years-old, will play on a 9-year-old Kid Pitch team this fall.

  4. What is the cost per player for the NJJBA Fall Ball program?
Registration fees are $60/player for 8-and-Under Machine Pitch and $85/player for Kid Pitch (9 through 14-year-old). There will not be a "Team Discount" offered this fall, but the per player costs for Kid Pitch is less than in 2008. **Registration fees after the final registration date of August 15th will be $100 for Kid Pitch and $75 for Machine Pitch.**

  5. Where are the NJJBA Fall Ball games played and what time do they start?
All games are normally played at Pioneer Park, Youth Memorial Complex or the Harold Lutz Sports Complex in Arvada. Games can start at noon, 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM. If we have a larger number of teams this year, we may have games at other parks, and an earlier start time, but most likely, games will be at Pioneer Park. Machine Pitch will probably be played at Youth Memorial, but we won't know that until later in August after registration has completed. Game schedules and additional information will be made available on the "Fall Ball" web pages. Some Kid Pitch teams may play games at fields in Broomfield or Louisville.

  6. How many games can we expect to play during the 2008 NJJBA Fall Ball Season?
There are eight Sundays of baseball in September and October, so we hope to get all 8 games in. However, last year we had some teams play 10 games and other teams played 6 games. We won't do make-up games unless we have too many cancelled games due to bad weather.

  7. Are there practices during the week?
Practice frequency is up to the coaches and the teams. Most Fall teams just practice an hour before their game on Sunday but some may have a practice during the week. We won't schedule practice fields in the Fall for the teams so it is up to the coach if they want to practice during the week. Many of the kids play football, soccer, and hockey during the fall so most teams just conduct a pre-game practice/warm-up then play the game.

  8. Are the rules different in the NJJBA Fall Ball program?
Rules are basically the same as the spring/summer, but we do have some modifications such as limiting the innings a player may pitch or catch. Also, we keep score but don´t keep standings. NJJBA uses registered umpires in the Kid Pitch games. Game times are limited to 1 hour and 45 minutes to ensure all games get in since there are no lights on fields.

  9. How, when, and where do we register our kids for the NJJBA Fall Ball program?
NJJBA Fall Ball Registration starts in July with online registration on this web site. In addition, there will be multiple walk-in registration days at the NJJBA Indoor Practice Facility (IPF) in July and August. Please go to the NJJBA Calendar for registrations dates. The walk-in registrations will take place at the IPF. Final Registration date is August 15th! The IPF is located at 9374 West 58th Avenue, just east of Ace Hardware in the Arvada Plaza Shopping Center (IPF Map) Online registration will be activated on July 1, 2009.

  10. What uniforms do the kids wear?
NJJBA will provide a tee shirt/jersey for each player, and each team will have the same color according to the High School area team they are assigned to play on. Players may use any cap and baseball pants that they want to wear, and other personal baseball uniform accessories should be worn (ex. - sliding shorts; protective cup; long socks; baseball cleats).

  11. What if our team has never played with NJJBA and we have a team that wants to play together this fall?
If you have a coach who wants to coach the Fall Ball team, and have kids who want to play for that coach, they will be set up so that they all play together. We will add players to your team if you have fewer than 12 players, but you can keep those kids together who want to play for a specific coach. All new coaches are required to submit a Coaches Application form and agree to a background check. Click here to access the Coach Application and Background Check Form.

  12. When can I expect to hear from a coach about the team my child will play on?
You should expect to hear from a coach by the first or second week in September, about September 6. The final registration for fall baseball is August 15th and teams are formed after all registrations are in. This process usually takes about 2-3 weeks to complete and the coaches get the rosters after all teams are formed.

  13. Are aluminum bats allowed in the NJJBA Fall Ball baseball league?
Yes, any bat can be used in the NJJBA Fall Ball Baseball League.

Thank you for taking the time to consider NJJBA for your fall baseball needs. I think you will really like the NJJBA Fall Baseball program. It is a very relaxed and fun environment. It is a good opportunity for players to try new things. Most parents comment about the fun and learning that happens in Fall Baseball.
